This two of a kind piece is copied from several chests seen in the beautiful and historic Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. This piece has solid cherry from a tree which we cut off of our property for a right-of-way. Lumber which would have been cut and most likely burned. Saving this exceptional wood for an exceptional piece. It's sister, a walnut version made at the same time resides at Ferry Farm's, George Wahington's childhood home, in Fredericksburg Virginia. No, this not from the cherry tree George Washington chopped down, but it he might have hide the hatchet in a similar chest until his parents found it.
Can you give this puppy a home?
Underwear and socks, you decide which side. Shirts, pants or whatever, this a chest your kids will fight about when you are done with it.

Hard to see, but the front rails are dovetailed into the case side. The floating dust divider is glued to the backside of the rail

Local poplar secondary wood.

We sell this piece by the pound.
The bottom is dovetailed by hand into the bottom of the case sides. The case sets on a molded which is applied under the case. Ogee bracket feet support the molding which, in turn, supports the case.
